What You'll Architect
- Intelligence APIs that digest market data, company signals, and investment patterns at scale
- Automated workflows that eliminate manual busywork across the entire investment lifecycle
- Data infrastructure that makes sense of complex, multi-source financial datasets (yes, including the messy ones)
- AI agent systems that can analyze investment memos, extract signals, and reason about opportunities
- Platform architecture that scales from prototype to production without the dreaded rewrite
Our stack: Node.js/TypeScript, Azure/GCP/AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, EC2, SQS, RDS, EventBridge, AppRunner), SST/Terraform, Next.js, React, SQL/NoSQL, Python for AI & ML, Snowflake.
But really—if you can architect systems that scale and make sound technical trade-offs, the specific tools are implementation details you'll master.
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
- 5-7+ years backend engineering with proven system design ownership
- Strong system design & architecture chops—you've designed systems that scaled and lived to tell about it
- Technical judgment—you make smart trade-offs
- Craftsperson work ethic—you take pride in elegant solutions and robust systems
- Generalist at heart—you can design backend architecture, model complex data, and jump to frontend when the feature demands it
- Insatiable learning drive—always exploring new technologies and approaches; you actually read papers and experiment
- Executive communication in Spanish and English—you explain complex technical decisions to both engineers and business stakeholders with clarity
- Stakeholder partnership—you've collaborated directly with product and business leaders to shape strategic solutions, influence roadmaps, and drive technical vision

- You've designed production systems that handle real scale (and have the war stories to prove it)
- You understand distributed systems, data consistency, and performance trade-offs—not just theoretically, but in production
- You can translate ambiguous business requirements into technical architecture that actually works
- You know when to over-engineer and when simplicity wins (and can defend both decisions)
- You mentor others and elevate team technical capabilities—your impact multiplies through others
